方違え（かたたがえ、かたちがえ）とは、陰陽道に基づいて平安時代以降に行われていた風習のひとつ。
外出や造作、宮中の政、戦の開始などの際、その方角の吉凶を占い、その方角が悪いといったん別の方向に出かけ、目的地の方角が悪い方角にならないようにした。wikipediaより引用。
方違え pronounce katatagae.
Katatagae is one of the custom by Onmyo-do from Heian-period. Onmyo-do is almost same as Taoism.
Katatagae was favored among Heian-period nobles and it became a part of their daily lives. The construction and renovation of houses, moving one's residence, public works construction, and traveling was strongly influenced by katatagae.
摂津、河内、和泉の三国の境界にあり、どこの国にも属さない、方角の無い清地であるとされています。古くから方災除の神として多くの参拝者が訪れ、現在でも車のご祈祷等でいつも賑わっています。
The shrine places a boundary between Setsu,Kawachi and Izumi. So the shrine does not belong to any provinces. And this place is not affected by katatagae.
